Review | My Little Box November 2017

And so the time has come.
After just over three years of  My Little Box being sent to the UK, the French box has announced that this will be the last one.
Half of me is upset. I've received some incredible gifts over the last couple of years, and have been introduced to some great brands. On top of that, I loved having abox of surprises to open every month.
The other half, well, she's not surprised in the slightest. Unfortunately, for the last few months, MLB have definitely been slacking in the greatness department.

However, they have ended on a high. This box was crammed full of goodies that I love!

Review | My Little Box October 2017

So I've been a bit MIA the last couple of weeks. I recently started a new job, and well, I'm finding it very stressful. But I want to get back into blogging properly. So to kick things off, we've got my regular My Little Box review.

If you read last months review, you'll know I was not happy in the slightest. Whilst this months is still not amazing, or anywhere close to MLB's best, it is much better than September's box.

For October, MLB have teamed up with one of my favourite stores, Asos, Instead of the usual box, this months goodies came in a gorgeous canvas bag, that can be re-used to store make up, art supplies or anything your heart desires.

Review | My Little Box September 2017

I like to keep things on this happy, talk about things that I've been enjoying, whether that's music, fashion or things I've been doing.
Unfortunatley, this post is not going to be particularly happy.

If  you read regularly, you'll know I've been receiving the French monthly subscription service, My Little Box, since they launched in the UK, so for three years now. I've always raved about them on here, and to friends and family, and am rarely disappointed. Until now. Sigh.

First off, this months box was late. Very late. Like over two weeks late. There was email or message on their site to say it would be late, nor has there been any explanation for the delay as I write this.
Second, usually there is 5 products for each month -2 lifestyle/fashion and 3 beauty- there was only 4 this month. That I can deal with. If the products are good. However, the products this month were extremely disappointing and I'll only be able to use 1/4 of them.

There's a lot of upset customer regarding this months box, but I'll try to go into this review as normal, and give my honest and unbiased opinions.

Sorry in advance for this disappointing, and maybe a little angry review. MLB have let me down big time.

Review | My Little Box August 2017

For August, My Little Box have taken inspiration from Western Africa's bold and irreverent wax prints, to create their Wild Summer box.
The patterns are beautiful, loud, powerful and elegant; perfect for summer and the upcoming festivals. Although, I do feel MLB spent a lot of time working on those and not so much what went inside the box. This isn't the worst box I've received, don't get me wrong, but I do feel there is something missing, that it could of been so much more.
I'll let you decide...

This month My Little Box has jetted us off to the Golden State of Mind! The beautifully, sunny city of Los Angeles deserves an equally beautifully, sunny box. Filled with palm trees and sunshine galore, MLB have created the perfect getaway without you even leaving your house...

Review | My Little Box April 2017

My Little Box have created the perfect box to start off our spring. This months garden theme brings us the health kick we need. Not just for our skin or gardens but for our insides too. And don't worry, if you don't have a garden- as crazy as it sounds, this box doesn't actually require one!

Review | My Little Box March 2017

So last months My Little Box wasn't.... the best. This month, however, they've shown why I love them so much with their #NoFilter box.
For starters it's not exactly a box. No, a make up filled to the brim with picture perfect products!

Review | My Little Box February 2017

February's edition of My Little Box has taken inspiration from our cold weather and icy evenings.
I'll be honest with you- this month is a little disappointing. You all know I'm usually in love with almost everything MLB send out, and while it's not the worst subscription box I've received, it's no where near the best either....

Review | My Little Box January 2017

New Year. New You. That's what they say right? So My Little Box have made the ultimate starter pack to make sure you're able to reinvent yourselves in style!
The Fresh Start box is actually a bag... (My Little Bag???) Perfect for storing art supplies, make up, or to be used whilst travelling. I'll be using it for the latter.
So without further ado, welcome to 2017 MLB!

Ones To Watch 2017 | Part 2

Alice Chater started songwriting at just 14. Now age 21, she her songs are reminiscent of 90's Gwen Stefani with a modern day edge. Her 5 song EP, WonderLAND, was released in 2015, with influences of Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey and Etta James.
She describes her music as being Sassy, bold and emotive, so it's a good thing her seriously insane voice is not shy to belting out a powerful song.
Remember the name Alice Chater. I think you'll be hearing a lot of her this year.

For Fans Of: Christina Aguilera, Lady GaGa, Gwen Stefani, Katy Perry
Personal Favourites: No Title, Crash, I Don't Do That.

A few months back, I was recommended Black Foxxes by a local record store that I frequent at.
The three piece hail in from Exeter, and released their debut album last summer. A mix of haunting lyrics and unfiltered guitars, they create a beautiful blend of rock music that's contemporary yet utterly unique. Emotional outpouring from the start, Black Foxxes are raw and gimmick free, basically what the rock world needs right now.
If their debut album is anything to go by, Black Foxxes could be well on their way to world-wide success.

For Fans Of: Boston Manor, Lonely The Brave, Tigercub, The Xcerts.
Personal Favourites: I'm Not Well, Maple Summer, River.

An online friend recommended Knocked Loose to me towards the end of 2016. The Kentucky natives released their debut album last year, showing off their unique take on hardcore. I don't listen to the huge amount of hardcore -I usually stick to pop punk/ punk- so please don't judge me for saying KL are hardcore. This is about as heavy as I get.
There's insane breakdowns, catchy riffs and a disturbed depth to the lyrics. There is a real raw, urgency in lead singer, Bryan's voice. Over the past couple of months, I've listened to Knocked Loose a lot, and this album has not got stale in the slightest.

For Fans Of: Hundredth, Code Orange, Rotting Out, Counterparts.
Personal Favourites: The Rain, My Heroes, No Thanks.

I hope you all enjoyed my recommendations for 2017.
Make sure to check out part one here!

Ones To Watch 2017 | Part 1

Happy New Year Everyone!

To kick start this year off, I'm doing my annual round up of who you need to keep an eye on!
None of these photos are mine but they have been edited by me.

Starting things off, we've got Chris Bourne. I''ve known about this guy for years now. I'm a fan of his brothers work (see here) and I was a fan of his old bands, Hollywood Ending and The Bourne Insanity. On top of that he's helped write songs for 5 Seconds Of Summer. 2016 saw him releasing his own music, an infectious, retro pop punk vibe, perfect for dreaming about the 80's (even if you weren't alive then)
This year will see him headlining his own UK tour, and hopefully more music. Let's just say I'm excited to see more from Chris.

For Fans Of: Busted, Mcfly, R5, The Summer Set, We The Kings, Wheatus.
Personal Favourites: MFT80s, She Drives Me Crazy, Young Love Relapse

Moon Coven are a recent find for me. About a month ago, I was looking up a completely different band when I stumbled upon this psychedelic rock band from Sweden.
Their music is sludgy and grungy, but not to be confused with "just another stoner rock band". The five piece released their second full length in 2016, which was filled to the brim of aggressive guitar solos and dynamic and confident lyrics, sure to leave you dazed.
I can't hep but wonder why there hasn't been more talk about Moon Coven. Don't throw them to one side, do yourself a favour and take them in.

For Fans Of: Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Wasted Theory.
Personal Favourites: Storm, Conspiracy, White Sun.

Someone I know through youtube introduced me to this one. Tor Miller is a New Yorker who is unabashedly confident. His music consists of 70's throwbacks and tributes to his hometown.
The latest in a string of male solo artists, Miller has his odd quirk that sets him apart from the rest. He is refreshing, confident and his energy is anything but subtle. His song are catchy and inspiring yet intense with a dash of soaring choruses.
Inspired by Jazz, Soul and the icons from a time before his, Miller's debut album showcases his distinct and extensive vocal range, proving this may be a singer who becomes timeless.

For Fans Of: Amy Winehouse, Ed Sheeran, Jeff Buckley, Sam Smith.
Personal Favourites: Always, Hold The Phone, Midnight, Baby Blue.

Come back Wednesday for the last three!!
Much Love.

Top 10 Albums Of 2016.

This year has been a little, well, shit.
There's not really a good way of putting that.
From political arguments to way, way too many deaths, 2016 has been tough for all of us.
On a good note though, there have been some absolute stonkers on the music scene.
Legends returned while newbies marked their name, these are my top ten favourite albums of 2016.
No particular order of course.
